The bottom loose eyeshadow is from Adorned with Grace Minerals Testing phase, the eyeshadow that corresponds to this tester on her site is called Intuitive [coppered taupe], it’s one of my favorite eyeshadows that I always reach for!

I tried putting the yellow at the inner part of my lid at first and blending it with the orange, but then it reminded me too much of flames and I’m not a flame type of gal, so I just made the whole lid orange and used the coppered taupe to contour. I wasn’t sure if I was gonna like how it turned out because it just looked weird at first, but after some blending I think it turned out cool. Not necessarily like I’m gonna wear this look to school cool though…haha
I wore this look to the Warriors game on March 17, where we beat the Clippers!

Purpose Gentle Face Cleanser

I decided to review the cleanser on here since I just reviewed it on MakeupAlley to give my two cents in. I too was lured by the rave reviews on MakeupAlley.com and I ended up disappointed. Ever since I started using Purpose I’ve been breaking out more than I did when I used the Olay cleanser and about the same as I did when I used Cetaphil. I think maybe it doesn’t totally clean everything off my face because I constantly have whiteheads and sometimes big pimples even. It has the consistency of liquid soap and it feels drying sometimes and it’s more expensive than the Olay cleanser. I won’t be repurchasing. I would give it a 2 out of 5 nuts.
Oh here’s a tip in case you do like the Purpose Cleanser…they say that the Clean and Clear Foaming Facial Cleanser for sensitive skin is exactly the same and I checked and the ingredients are exactly the same. The Clean and Clear bottle is bigger though and it’s cheaper! They are made by the same company tooo
I just finished with midterms today! I had three this week and two of them were today! Starting at 7:45 in the morning! If you didn’t know already I’m a nursing student and I have come to the conclusion that nursing students love to watch either House or Grey’s Anatomy, sometimes both. And it’s probably these shows that helped them decide to go into the medical field. Ok not all nursing students are this way, but a lot haha. Me included. So I’m a huuuuuuuge House fan, it’s basically the only tv show I watch and I keep hearing my cohorts talk about how “crazy” Grey’s Anatomy is getting and so I wanted to start watching it too, also so I can have something to watch when I already saw all the House episodes. I watched the very first episode online today [I hate watching tv series out of order!] and it was pretty good! I think I’ll turn into one of those Grey’s fanatics too. Even though the things that happen on medical shows totally do not reflect what happens in real life situations, it’s good fun!

Soft Smokey
This is sorda the opposite of my last FOTD in a way because instead of being all matte, it’s really shimmery! Which I didn’t really mean to do, but it just ended up that way, but it still turned out cute. I wanted to do a soft smokey look for the daytime.

- Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel

Eyes:
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
1) The Body Shop shimmercubes silver
2) e.l.f. silvery white color
3) Bare Escentuals warmth
4) Jordana black
5) NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in slate
6) coastal scents gel liner

I used the matte cream color all over from brown bone to lashline. Then I put the silver colors on my lid, then warmth in the crease then black over the warmth and blend well. I used the NYX jumbo pencil on my waterline, I like that pencil cuz its like a gray that’s kinda blue-ish. It looks great paired with a smokey eye without being too dark. Then I lined my upper lashline with gel liner.

All Matte EOTD
And a tutorial too! kinda..haha
I’ve been seeing a some matte EOTD’s around lately and I noticed they can be really beautiful in their own right. I think we tend to go for shimmery or pearl shadows cuz they look cute in the pan, but this time I got really excited to just use mattes.

I used the green shadow in the upper left mixed with a matte Jordana black shadow. Jordana actually has pigmented shadows and they’re super cheap too, but when I was at walgreens today I didn’t see any Jordana shadows! Where are they?? Long’s maybe? If you know where to get Jordana shadows, please let me know. They carry a bunch of matte colors too. And it costs like 99 cents each or something. But anyway..
I tapped my Coastal Scents crease brush into the green a few times then the black a few times and applied all over the lid, but concentrated on the contour part and stayed away from my upper lashline.

The only thing about mattes is that they can be harder to blend, so I would just strategically place my brush when applying the shadows since I know it might be hard to blend later.

Purple FOTD
I hope I don’t have another post titled Purple FOTD..I’m not so creative when it comes to blog titles haha.
I used the same purple elf eyeshadow quad in “silver lining” that I used on Christmas except this time I applied a neutral colored shadow all over the lid before applying the other colors so it would be toned down for daytime.

On another note, Lent is upon us and for those who are not familiar with lent it is a period of 40 days and 40 nights [yeah, like that movie with Josh Hartnett!] where you give something up that you normally do or have everyday [for example, coffee for some people]. I’m not what you would call religious, I just participate in Lent because I’m weird and I think it’s fun to test my willpower haha. For Lent this year I gave up Youtube and reading beauty blogs because I noticed that I go on Youtube and read beauty blogs practically every day when I should be doing homework or something more productive. So it sucks because I can’t keep up on all your guys’ blogs and stuff. but I know the posts are still gonna be there when I get back and I allowed myself to blog which is a good thing because I need to try to update this thing regularly instead of randomly. So, did you give up anything for Lent?
