Review: Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme

I figured I should do a review on this because I’ve been using it for some time now and also I’m like borderline obsessed with it. What sparked my interest in the Nivea cremes is when I read a blog about how the Nivea Original Creme [in the blue jar or tin] has almost all the same ingredients as the infamous Creme de la Mer. Also I was looking for a moisturizer that was more emollient [oil based] because the water based moisturizers [think Cetaphil] didn’t seem to be cutting it for me. I didn’t buy the original formula because that one is thicker and more rich and I thought it would be too heavy for my combo skin, but this seems to be a lighter version of the original creme, it sinks into my skin, doesn’t leave it greasy and effectively moisturizes!

There is a scent to it…it’s sorda old lady-ish. Like floral baby powder or something. But for some reason, it grew on me! I kinda like it when I smell it now and you don’t really notice it for that long after application anyway.

I got the travel size to try it out and it lasted me a solid 4 months at least. I don’t remember when I bought it exactly. You only have to use a small amount though to cover your whole face and I apply mine while my face is still wet so I would use even less product.

I went out to get some more today. And I upgraded! Look at that big mamma jamma. I know I can’t be the only one that does this, but when you start to run out of a staple product do you immediately run out a buy a replacement even though it isn’t finished yet and you know there’s plenty of uses left? Because you feel a slight feeling of paranoia that it’s going to run out when you least expect it and you’ll be left product-less in the middle of the night when all the stores are closed. Or is that just me?

I give this a 5 out of 5! Because I love it! And I don’t mind that it doesn’t have SPF because I only use this at night anyway.

aireen – it’s recommended to moisturize, but if your mask does the moisturisation i think it should be fine. i use aveeno sunblock during the day also!

nee – i wish they had this at my 99 cent store. at walgreens the travel size is like 1.39 or so. yeah i’m that cheap that i don’t want to pay an extra 39 cents!

irene – haha yehhh i read on your blog how you like to hoard stuff. HIGH FIVE! haha

  8. I noticed that this is not the first time you write about this topic. Why have you chosen it again?
